I just had a wonderful mother's day weekend! I used to hate Mother's Day. Mother's Day used to remind me of all the things I wasn't doing or being but now I just enjoy it. This year each one of my children sent such thoughtful remembrances and it was nice to have Sara and Jay's family visit. Sara and Jay are just in the "thick" of parenthood with three small children. We took an enjoyable walk Saturday on Rexburg's new Greenbelt and found out it is mostly incomplete and looks mostly like an old train yard but we had a good family time anyway. One pleasant surprise in my life is how much I enjoy being a grandma!
Well so much for my first post on a blog. Thanks to Sara for setting me up. I guess someday I'm going to have to enter the 21st century instead of just being proud I can do word processing and e-mail. I've discovered that one advantage to blogging is that you don't have to do it with the stigma of a wheelchair and you can be the real person you are inside. Beides no one sees the "ugly cry" when you are writing about something touching. All in all, it has been a great weekend of firsts for me including my first pedicure.

We had SO much fun this weekend. I loved going with you to get your first pedicure (hopefully more to come) The girls loved watching movies with you. I especially enjoyed listening to them plan what they were going to do before they got there and then talking about it on the way home of their fun time with you. You are a great grandma! And they love you! It was nice to get outside on the greenbelt. I was glad Jacob could ride on you lap since we didn't have a stroller. But MOST OF ALL I am so excited to read your blog. I am happy you feel you can be free of the wheelchair and 'ugly cry' stigma (even though I don't mind either of them) I loved your first post and can't wait for more. I am also excited for the first call for help, because that means you are using your blog! Thanks for a fun weekend!
I love your blog! I also love the pictures, they are some of my favorites of both of you! I'm so glad to be able to keep in touch with you this way!!! Also, another big Happy Mother's day to you. You have been such a wonderful mom and I love you so much. You have been a great example to me and I love now watching you as a grandma and how much Kennedy loves spending time with you. She still talks about how much fun she had when you stayed with us. I hope you will come again soon. Love you!
hello, I'm one of Sara's BFFs (I'm sure she thinks so too) and she taught me all about blogging. Love your blog and hope you don't mind if I stalk it a little bit.
Mom, I love the new blog! I especially love the sentiment of the title. My favorite quote while living in Alaska became "bloom where you are planted" I appreciate you teaching me that concept by example and how to "bloom" in any circumstance. Love you lots, and look forward to more posts.

PS:Blake loves the "lambchops" picture of dad. I love the Indiana Jones.
